Cookie Policy
Læs på danskLast updated: 2 June 2026 Effective date: 2 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Kontekstwork ApS uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage and error-monitoring beacons, on https://kontekstboard.com (the "Service"), the website of the Kontekstboard product. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Kontekstboard is a product of Kontekstwork ApS.
This version replaces all earlier versions of the Cookie Policy from the effective date above.
Language. This Cookie Policy is published in English and Danish. The English version is the official text and prevails in case of any discrepancy, except where mandatory Danish consumer law requires the Danish version to be used (in which case the Danish version prevails for that consumer).
1. What this policy covers
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently and to provide information to the site's operators. Similar technologies, including localStorage, sessionStorage, pixel tags and SDK beacons (for example, the JavaScript SDK we use to send error reports), work in much the same way and are covered by this policy.
Under section 3 of the Danish Cookie Order (cookiebekendtgørelsen) and Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive, we may only place cookies (or otherwise store or access information on your device) with your prior consent, except where this is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.
2. Cookies and storage we use
We group the technologies we use into two categories.
2.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
These cookies and storage entries are essential to operate the Service. Without them, sign-in, security and basic UI functions would not work. They cannot be disabled in our cookie banner.
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
refresh_token (cookie) |
Refresh token for keeping you signed in. Set as a secure browser cookie. | 7 days | Kontekstboard (first-party) |
cookie_consent (cookie) |
Stores your cookie banner choices so we don't ask again. | 12 months (365 days) | Kontekstboard (first-party) |
UI-preference entries (browser localStorage) |
Remember UI preferences such as view mode, sidebar state, archive-read markers and the waitlist marker so we don't reset them on every visit. | Until you clear browser storage | Kontekstboard (first-party) |
2.2 Analytics cookies (consent required)
We use these only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. They help us understand which features are used and where users get stuck, so we can improve the Service.
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes visitors. | 24 months | Google Analytics 4 — Google Ireland Ltd. (controller: Google LLC, US) |
_ga_<container-id> |
Persists session state for GA4. | 24 months | Google Analytics 4 — Google Ireland Ltd. (controller: Google LLC, US) |
Google Analytics 4 truncates visitor IP addresses by default; we do not export full IPs. We have disabled Google Signals and ad personalisation in our GA4 admin settings. Google Analytics still involves a transfer of data to Google LLC in the US, which takes place under Google's EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification.
Google Analytics fires on our marketing pages only and is not loaded on signed-in product pages.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not share data with advertisers.
3. Your choices
When you first visit the Service, our cookie banner asks you to accept or reject analytics cookies. You can:
- Accept all (strictly necessary + analytics), or
- Reject non-essential (strictly necessary only).
You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the website footer. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics events from being sent and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
4. Third-party tools
The third-party tool whose cookies are described above is:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC). For more information, see Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
In-product third-party services (Resend for email delivery, Hetzner for hosting, Polar.sh for billing) do not set persistent cookies on https://kontekstboard.com.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated in the cookie banner and inside the Service.
